Jennifer is also a transplant, growing up in the Wild West in a musical family. Jen’s family chose New Bern to settle down, after her husband retired from military life. She grew up playing piano and viola and singing in her mom’s church choir. Ten years ago, she signed up for beginning vocal lessons at Craven Community College with Phil Evancho, working through her fear of singing and performing in front of others.

     She has since performed in many local groups: Craven Community Chorus, Encore, New Bern Civic Strings, Craven Consort, Crystal Coast Choral Society and the Craven Messiah Chorus. She currently serves alongside her mother as organist and choir director at a local church.  She loves to blend her voice with others and truly enjoys the friendship and good times provided by singing. She looks forward to sharing her joy of music with our community as part of the Silver Lining Singers.
